Angin

Kala jengking Jerman menyanyi pasal angin.

Competition keeps everyone on their toes. Remember when AMD introduced their Athlon64 line of processors not too long ago, Intel was still stuck with their outdated, low performing, power hungry architecture dubbed the Pentium 4.

Intel had grown complacent after years of domination in the processor market. They thought they could still push the old tech to meet the needs of the then current generation of users who embraced the advent of bittorrent, youtube, FAR CRY and whatnot. Boy were Intel so adamant in keeping to their 'dead' methods until AMD rose up and gave the people what they wanted, a fresh face and a fresh approach.

Lo and behold, the new Athlon64 cpus beat the Pentium 4s at pretty much every benchmark while still running cooler and with less power draw. Efficiency. They haz it.

Fortunately, Intel learnt from their mistakes. They rebounded and came up with the Core architecture. Now their Core2 line of processors leaves AMD's offerings well in the dust.

This is all well and good because at the end of the day, the consumers are the ones to benefit from competition. I hope and pray AMD will still stay in competition.

Without competition, the corporation wins. Just look at the high def storage scene now, with HD-DVD out of the picture, the blu-ray manufacturers just done raised the price of blu-ray players.

Blardy.

LOL :D you never fail to amaze me Halimunan.

A very good take on competition plus a pinch of humor to make a certainly palatable comment tastier!

Couldn't agree more. Some opposition hardliners I spoke to invisioned this measure of victory almost to the T. I personally think that it wouldn't have been to the rakyat's benefit if the government went through a complete overhaul. The opposition's abilities are as yet untested. A gradual transition such as the one that's about to take place would prepare all parties for their roles - the sideliners to centrestage, the spotlight hoggers to the sidelines - whatever.

Now both sides are going to be competing to prove that they have the staying power and the rakyat only stand to benefit from it, hopefully. Exciting times are ahead. Us Malasias overseas are anxiously wringing our hands to see how all parties are going to react to this election outcome.
